“Being vegan means…

….. I’m not perfect, but I’m doing the best I can to cause the least amount of harm.”

I think one reason people are turned off or discouraged by veganism is because there’s this idea that it’s hard and restrictive. For a lot of people it’s all or nothing, so if they don’t think they can live without one food, they won’t try at all. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

The truth is that veganism is not about being perfect. If you can’t follow a completely vegan diet, that’s okay. The most important thing is that you’re trying and are happy and at peace with the change you are making in the world. Don’t worry about anyone else, set personal goals and do what you can, it gets easier over time. If you can be vegan 80 or 90% of the time, then you are making a difference. You don’t need to drive yourself crazy, just do your best and teach others what you know and together we can all make a change. Trust me, the only regret you’ll have is that you didn’t do it sooner.
