Tips for changing your diet

So you want to change your diet, but maybe, like many people, you’ve tried before and have reverted to your old meat-eating ways. Here are my tips on how to make the switch.

  1. Try making it a transition. Start with vegetarianism before trying veganism. Maybe try cutting out a certain type of meat first, or limiting how many days a week you eat it. Trust me when I say after a while, you won’t even want meat anymore, and that’s a great feeling.
  2. Find a community. Whether it’s on social media, through the vegan mentor program, or friends/family, having people who understand what you’re going through will definitely help!
  3. Use the available resources! This blog, free guides, free recipes, books, movies, etc. There is a lot of helpful information out there for when you’re needing some guidance or even just a simple reminder that what you’re doing matters.
  4. Remember that it’s not about being perfect. You need to find what works for you. If at first you’re hesitant about giving up one thing, say bacon, (something I hear often), then begin by going vegetarian besides that one thing. It really is a process and it’s okay if it takes some time. As your journey continues, you’ll find what works for you.

Let me know what advice helped you go vegan, or if you aren’t vegan, let me know what you find challenging about changing your diet.
