So you want to change your diet, but maybe, like many people, you’ve tried before and have reverted to your old meat-eating ways. Here are my tips on how to make the switch.
- Try making it a transition. Start with vegetarianism before trying veganism. Maybe try cutting out a certain type of meat first, or limiting how many days a week you eat it. Trust me when I say after a while, you won’t even want meat anymore, and that’s a great feeling.
- Find a community. Whether it’s on social media, through the vegan mentor program, or friends/family, having people who understand what you’re going through will definitely help!
- Use the available resources! This blog, free guides, free recipes, books, movies, etc. There is a lot of helpful information out there for when you’re needing some guidance or even just a simple reminder that what you’re doing matters.
- Remember that it’s not about being perfect. You need to find what works for you. If at first you’re hesitant about giving up one thing, say bacon, (something I hear often), then begin by going vegetarian besides that one thing. It really is a process and it’s okay if it takes some time. As your journey continues, you’ll find what works for you.
